Barbara is a native Arizonian. She graduated from Arizona State University with a BS & MS in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and teaching certificate (certified K-12); a Ph.D. from University of Kansas, Lawrence Kansas in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and a Post-doctoral in Special Education from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. She has Emeritus standing with the American Speech Language and hearing Association, a Certificate of Clinical Competence and has been a clinician for 45 years.
While living in Canada, she served as president of the Ontario Speech and Hearing Association and was associated with the Group Health Centre as Clinical Director of the Department of Communication Disorders and with the Sault Ste. Marie Board of Education as a consultant.
Barbara specializes in work with person diagnosed as autistic and those with cognitive disorders. She loves working with families and her caseload is generally with older children and young adults.
Barbara has duel citizenship with Canada and the U.S. and is married to a Canadian. They have three children, eight grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren and live in Gilbert, AZ
