Occupational Therapist

Abby received her Associate's Degree from Brown Mackie College in 2016 to become a certified occupational therapy assistant. Abby became interested in working with children with special needs during her last year of high school she interned in the special education department at her school helping with life skills classes and adaptive physical education classes. Abby enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and playing tennis.

I grew up here in Arizona. I received my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University and my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from A.T Still University. I have experience in working with children in the schools as well as acute hospital care. I am looking forward to working with children and their families! In my free time I love to travel as well as being outdoors and spending time with my family and friends.

Bridget Thompson, OTR/L became interested in Occupational Therapy when her middle son was born 3 ½ months early. She graduated from Midwestern University in 2005 and has worked in a variety of pediatric settings, including public, charter and private schools, pediatric clinics, and in client’s homes.

Bridget has provided occupational therapy services to children ranging from toddler to young adult with a variety of conditions including but not limited to attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, autism spectrum disorders, developmental coordination disorders, fine and gross motor delays, sensory processing disorders, and visual challenges. Bridget specializes in handwriting acquisition and remediation for all age groups.

Carolyn received her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Midwestern University and has been a pediatric occupational therapist since 2015. Carolyn has experience working in the pediatric outpatient and school-based settings. Carolyn loves working to provide individualized therapy sessions based on children’s interests to target goals. Carolyn holds specialty training in sensory processing and feeding therapy. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys camping and taking her puppy to the dog park.


Casey received her Master's in Occupational Therapy at A.T. Stills University in Mesa, AZ. She earned her undergraduate in Exercise and Wellness at Arizona State University. Casey is a member of the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association. Casey has been fortunate enough to follow her passion of working with neurological patients since 2011. Casey has recently switched career paths, following the birth of her first daughter, to pediatrics, where she has always wanted to be. While attending school, she gained experience and background working as a personal trainer at a local fitness center and interning as a strength and conditioning coach with Maricopa community college athletes. She loves to volunteer for local events such as charity fun run/walks and Day on the Lake, put on by Barrow's Neurological Institute, allowing those with disabilities to participate in adaptive water sports. When she isn't working hard in the clinic, Casey enjoys working out, playing softball, snowboarding or wake boarding and watching sporting events with her husband and family, specially cheering on her beloved team, the Green Bay Packers.


Background/Education: Donna has been a COTA/L since 2011, graduating from Maria College in Albany, NY. She grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to New York in 2000. Moved back to Pennsylvania for a few years and then came to Arizona.

What you love about working with children: Being a part of helping them gain independence. I as a foster parent for 8 years and just loved helping children grown and learn.

Personal Interest/Hobbies: (optional) Being a Grandmother to three beautiful kiddos! I also enjoy hiking and hanging out with my husband and dog.

Donny H. has been a practicing occupational therapist for the past 11 years, graduating with a B.S. in occupational therapy from Keuka College (Penn Yan, New York) in 2002, an advanced master in occupational therapy from A.T. Still University (Mesa, Arizona) in the spring of 2008, and in May of 2013, he achieved his doctorate in occupational therapy (Pittsburgh, PA) from Chatham University. He has dedicated his entire career to working in the realm of pediatrics in the school based population, home health, and outpatient clinical settings. His doctoral thesis focused on the implementation of home programs and the effectiveness of their impact on improved functional occupations and satisfaction on family life. In April 2012, Donny was appointed by Governor Jan Brewer to the Arizona State Board of Occupational Therapy, where he will serve a three-year term, and will be eligible for reappointment in January 2015 for another three-year appointment. In Donny’s free time, he enjoys swimming, relaxing in the sun, and spending time with his partner of 7 years, “Dan” Donny has sent his next goal on becoming NDT certified.

Emma was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin. She moved south to attend Midwestern University and received her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2016. She completed two pediatric rotations in outpatient and school settings where she was able to work with children of all ages and their families. Emma likes to spend her free time doing yoga, playing cribbage, and enjoying the Arizona weather.


Background/Education: Erin L. has been an occupational therapist since 2003. I have a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and received my master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California. I have worked primarily in different school settings and have addressed children’s needs related to sensory processing, self-care, feeding, handwriting, fine and visual motor development, social skills, and more!

What I love about working with children: I have known that I would work with children one day since I was a child myself! I grew up babysitting my younger siblings and have always felt a strong connection with children. Working with children has helped me to stay young at heart and I love the unique perspectives they have of the world. I also enjoy working with families to help navigate all the challenges of parenting.

Personal Interest/Hobbies: When at home, I enjoy spending my time husband and watch our son and daughter as they grow and learn. We love to play with our crazy dog, swim in the pool, do arts and crafts, read, and just be plain old silly! I also love to cook and explore our relatively new Arizona home.

Hilary found her love for Occupational Therapy while she was a 4th grade special education teacher. As she went through her education, she realized she wanted to help her students become more independent in their daily lives. She then attended Midwestern University where she earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2015. She has worked with children of many ages and diagnoses in the hospital, clinic, and home settings. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and traveling.

Judy has an extensive background as a health care professional with degrees in Nursing, Education and Occupational Therapy and she is currently enrolled in a full-time post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctoral program thru the University of Utah. She is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Utica College Occupational Therapy program Class of 1995 and has criss-crossed the United States while working in various settings and locations until finally settling in Arizona in 2013. Judy considers all things child-related to be her primary area of interest, but has worked in settings across the age continuum. She has extensive experience working with children with developmental delays, physical and mental ‘challenges’, children on the autism spectrum and other areas as well.

Judy’s leisure time activities mainly center around travel, however, with full- time work in a school setting and full-time studies, her travels have been more restricted. A lifelong vegetarian who enjoys cooking, when she isn’t at work, at school, in the kitchen, Judy can be found at a local gym on the treadmill or the recumbent bike or in the pool!

Mildred (Milly) is a certified and licensed Occupational Therapist who received her Occupational Therapy degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2002. Milly immediately began working in Pediatrics at the Children’s Center at Simi Valley Hospital in California where she completed her internship and worked for a year, starting her professional journey in the pediatric world. In 2003, Milly moved to Arizona and continued working in pediatrics. She has found her true calling in pediatrics and has worked in this setting since. She has worked in private therapy clinics, in private schools, and home health.

She has been fortunate to have been mentored personally by the late Lorna Jean King at CCNS on sensory processing disorders and sensory integration. She is also SIPT certified and has taken several courses training her in sensory integration. She is also trained in Handwriting Without Tears, in the Wilbarger Brushing protocol and in creating sensory diets. Because of her playful nature, Milly has always been drawn to working with children with special needs especially children with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder. She is constantly taking courses (ALERT program, The Listening Program, Carol Kranowitz’ sensory courses, Lori Overland’s Sensory Motor Approach) to refine her skills as a pediatric occupational therapist so she could best serve her clients and their families. She also has training in Applied Behavior Analysis and Social Thinking.

When not at work, Milly spends her free time weight training and relaxing with her husband. She spends her weekends teaching religious education to kids with special needs and kids that attend her church and volunteers for her church to feed the poor and visit the sick in the community.

Background/Education: Phyllis has lived in Arizona most of her life. She attended University of Pugent Sound in Tacoma, WA. She has always loved working with children and has spent over 15 years working in Mesa Public Schools.

What I love about working with children: "I have enjoyed watching the progress the children make and interacting with them and helping them learn and explore their strengths."

Personal Interest/Hobbies: "I am excited ti work more with the children and their families. I love to travel and volunteer at several performing arts centers in Mesa and Phoenix."

Renee Cornejo graduated from Apollo College in 1995 with an Associated Degree in Health Sciences. She is a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant and has worked in the pediatric field for 18 years in clinic and home based environments. Renee's specialty is with sensory processing delays in children of all ages and disabilities. She enjoys working with children and getting to know their families to provide a better quality of life. Renee is married and has two amazing sons! She enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family and friends making great memories!

Suzette is a graduate from Pima Medical Institute’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program and has been working in the field occupational therapy for about 8 years.  She graduated, received her certification, and passed her bar exam all in the fall of 2012.  She works for Mesa Public Schools August through May.

Suzette enjoys working with children ages- preschool through junior high and has had experience with various diagnosis; Autism, Developmentally Delayed, CP, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome, and Traumatic Brain Injury.

When not working, Suzette enjoys reading inspirational short stories, art projects, playing games and spending time with her family. For the past four years she has been studying America Sign Language (ALS). She has lived in Mesa for 27 years. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they’re the proud parents of two teenage children.

Varsha earned her Master's degree in O.T. from New York University in 1985. She has 30+ experience in working with children of all ages and any kind of diagnosis. She has worked in public schools. in -patient hospital settings, client's home and clinic. She is also a Brain Gym instructor and has conducted various workshop in AZ and in India. She has been successful in setting up a clinic in rural India and frequently travels to India to train therapists, families and teachers. She conducts Brain Gym workshop at corporate level for stress reduction and improving production. She loves what she does. In her spare time she loves to travel all over the world.
